WHO’S INVITED: Anyone & Everyone Who Loves St. Stephen’s! This is a great event to invite a friend or neighbor!
WHAT: A Good Ol’ Fashioned Church Picnic
WHERE: Rutherford Park on Guinea Road (.8 mile from church)
WHEN: Pentecost Weekend — the Church’s Birthday:
Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 4 – 7 PM
WHY? Because It’s Fun!
PARKING: Folks are encouraged to drop off food and lawn chairs at the main parking lot and then find on-street parking in the neighborhood. Please note that due to prior reservations on the athletic fields and our event permit, long-term parking may NOT be available in the lot directly off of Guinea Rd. Folks may park in the church parking lot and walk .8 of a mile through the neighborhood to the park. Parking and walking maps are available at church and on our website.
FOOD TO SHARE: Please bring a dish to share based on your family’s LAST NAME…
A – M: Salad or Side Dish N – Z: Dessert
St. Stephen’s will provide hamburgers & hotdogs, buns, chips, condiments, drinks, and paper goods.
WHAT TO WEAR: We are asking folks to wear a certain color
t-shirt based on where they live so folks can easily identify their immediate neighbors (and we may have some friendly competition between regions!)
Burke: YELLOW, Springfield: ORANGE, Annandale: BLUE Fairfax: RED, Great Beyond: GREEN
WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on during the event, and any lawn games you’d like to share. Also, everyone is encouraged to bring a neighbor or friend from your community with you — the T-Shirt group (outlined above) that brings the most guests eats first and has bragging rights (Note: Guests from the Great Beyond count double since they’re coming from far away and it may be more challenging!)
