Not All Plastics Recycle

People tend to assume that if it’s plastic and it has the recycling logo with a number in it, that means the plastic is easily recyclable—not so.  The logo only makes it easier to find the number that indicates how recyclable the plastic is.  What plastic gets recycled varies with the community but in general, #3 (PVC) and #7 (resins) are the least likely to be accepted in recycling (the plastics most accepted by recycling programs are #1 and #2).  So it’s usually better to choose glass, metal or paper as container options from a recycling perspective.
