Sad Truth About Sprinklers

As much as 70% of water from a sprinkler can be lost to evaporation before it has a chance to be absorbed by the ground or the plants you want to help.  Here’s how to conserve water, pay less in water bills and get better return on your watering efforts.  Water early in the morning or late in the evening (when it’s cooler or the sun isn’t high in the sky).  This will reduce evaporation.  Also think of using a soaker hose instead of a sprinkler, especially one that sends out a fine mist (which promotes evaporation).
