The Scoop on Clothes Dryers

Dryers use tremendous amounts of electricity.  When the filter hasn’t been cleaned, they run hotter.  When the dryer has been overloaded, they run less efficiently and waste more electricity plus clothes take longer to dry and you’re more likely to end up with wrinkled clothes.  It’s usually cheaper and faster to split clothes into multiple loads rather than try to cram it all into the dryer.  And the cheapest and cleanest alternative of all is to use a clothes line when it’s sunny and warm.
