St. Stephen’s Receives Samaritan Award from the Northern Virginia Hermitage Guild
On May 7, the Northern Virginia Hermitage Guild honored St. Stephen’s with a Samaritan Award. The Samaritan award is presented to each of the ten largest church contributors to the Samaritan Offering in 2014.
Martha Stokes, Director of Church and Community Relations for the Hermitage Guild wrote:
“On behalf of the residents and staff of the Hermitage in Northern Virginia and the corporate staff of United Methodist Homes, Inc. (VUMH), please express our deep appreciation to the people of St. Stephen’s UMC for their support of the mission of VUMH with older adults. The sacrificial giving by the congregation enables those who, through no fault of their own, have outlived their resources to continue to live in their “home” within our communities. Your giving offers security and safety when residents are most vulnerable.”
