The Triumph Song of Life

“The Triumph Song of Life,” looks at Psalms (songs) from the Bible that help us to overcome life’s challenges; this series also has a looking-back dimension as we remember what was happening when St. Stephen’s was started in 1963.


THE TRIUMPH SONG OF LIFE (50th anniversary series)
August 18 – at the 8:30 and 9:45 services (11:00 service will feature the children’s musical, “Cool in the Furnace” in the place of the sermon) “Face Fear with Faith” – Psalm 27, with reading from Martin Luther King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail,” dated April 16, 1963.

August 25 – “Dare to Dream” – Psalm 33
with a clip from Martin Luther King’s August 28, 1963 “I Have a Dream” speech.

September 1 – “Hold on with Hope” – Psalm 5
with reflections on the assassination of John Kennedy, November 22, 1963.
