Summer Camps

ArchKIDtecture Camp: A Window into Sacred Space. Do you have a rising 4th—7th grader that loves architecture – drawing houses, building structures, designing a pillow fort? Architecture is one of the most exciting fields that not only uses all of the STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) but also encourages creative thinking through art and design skills. This NEW 3-day mini camp will explore how light influences sacred space and shapes our faith through STEM skills, creative thinking, and art and design Through field trips and hands-on experiences campers will explore a variety of windows located in churches both in Washington, DC and in Virginia before designing their own!

Wednesday, July 5—Friday, July 7, 10:30 am—4:30 pm, cost $75 / child, including a $15 material fee.* With early arriver option, 8:30—10:30 am; additional cost $15 / child. Camp size limited to 24 participants.

VBS Hero Central will take kids, ages 4 years – 6th grade, on an awesome adventure alongside some of their favorite Bible heroes to discover the qualities that make us truly heroic in God. VBS Hero Central uses epic music, spectacular science, crafty crafts, heroic recreation, and fantastic Bible stories to help kids discover their strength in God!

Monday, July 10—Friday, July 14; 1—4 pm; cost $15/child.

MPK Summer Plunge is designed for rising 4th through 7th graders who want to learn first hand that they can make a difference in their community and the world! This day camp is filled with lots of off-site, hands-on service projects with the elderly, homeless, hungry, children, and so much more! Take the Mission Possible Kids plunge this summer!

Monday, July 24—Friday, July 28; 10:30 am—4:30 pm; cost $100/child.* With early arriver option, 8:30 – 10:30 am; additional cost $25/child.

Theatre & Arts Camp is a week-long musical theatre camp for children and youth (rising 3rd – 8th grades) where they will learn, practice, and perform scenes from a musical. This year, we’re exploring the classic, The Sound of Music, as well as the biblical themes related to this musical. Participants perform Sunday morning during worship after participating in camp Monday-Friday.   Several off-site field trips are also planned along with helping campers develop the fundamental skills of performing confidently.

Monday to Friday, August 7—11, 10:30 am—4:30 pm, AND campers MUST be available on Sunday, August 13, 8—Noon during all three worship services; cost $50/child.*

* Partial scholarships are available on a case-by-case basis. Requests for scholarship assistance are made through the registration process online and are sent directly to Pastor Abi Foerster.

Wacky Wednesdays for Younger Kids

Join us for a wacky morning of fun together! This ministry is designed as a “play date meet up” to shoo away the summer doldrums for young children up to 2nd grade and to enhance parent /child relationships. We’ll provide a variety of “hands on activities” and a story time to explore a variety of interests, plus a small snack and guaranteed lots of fun! Join us from 10 AM to Noon on the following Wednesdays this Summer:

  • June 21 — Architects Galore!
  • July 19 — Making Music!
  • August 2— Water Works! (Please wear your bathing suit!)
  • August 30 — Creating Together!
