Welcome to the 2021 St. Stephen’s Stewardship Campaign
We are called to the greatest adventure the world has ever known: to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transfor-mation of the world. This incredible adventure plays out in each of us through the unlimited power of the Holy Spirit and our personal relationship with an almighty and loving God!
Thank You to everyone who took part in our Estimate-of-Giving Card Drive-thru Celebration Sunday, Oct. 25th. You can still reach and complete your Estimate-of-Giving Card here.
October 7, 2020
Dear St. Stephen’s Family,
Greetings in the name of Christ our Lord! We are so very thankful to be serving the Lord with you at St. Stephen’s Church. In spite of the challenging circumstances in which we live, we pray that you are continuing to experience the fullness of God’s love and grace and that love and grace is leading you to new blessings, new beginnings, new faith, new hope, new thankfulness, and new joy! It is this love and grace that we are called to receive and celebrate in and through the life and ministries of St. Stephen’s Church!
The apostle Paul writes, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). The year, 2020, has been like no other year that we have ever experienced, and all of us have experienced the challenge of rejoicing always and being thankful in all circumstances, but we also have learned the importance of praying without ceasing. Joy is fostered in knowing the very presence of God in Jesus Christ though the Holy Spirit. Joy also is cultivated in celebrating God’s presence not only together in worship but in all aspects of the life and ministry of St. Stephen’s Church as we reach out to others in God’s love and grace. It is in our remembrance of God’s faithfulness that the Holy Spirit moves us to thankfulness! Thanks be to God!
In gratitude, in praise, and by relaying God’s love to others, we live lives of thankfulness. This is the theme of our stewardship campaign this fall: “Thankfulness.” During our worship series, we will be considering how thankfulness leads us to joy and leads us to responding faithfully to the love and grace that God is pouring into our lives. During “Thankfulness,” we will witness different people’s responses in scripture to the love and grace of God and celebrate our thankfulness for God’s faithfulness in the stories of our lives and St. Stephen’s Church.
Thank you for being part of God’s story that is called St. Stephen’s Church. Through the faithful giving of your gifts, as well as your prayers, presence, service and witness through St. Stephen’s, your faithfulness has translated into concrete acts of love and mercy for people of all ages throughout our community and around the world. All giving to St. Stephen’s is carefully handled through the Finance Committee, ensuring that all funds are used prayerfully, wisely, and with integrity.
We invite you to submit an Estimate-of-Giving Card . While it is not a binding contract, an estimate of giving helps the church plan and be able to say “yes” to much of what God calls us to do. An estimate of giving helps the church project the extent of our service and be more effective in our ministry in the name of Jesus! Please consider celebrating God’s faithfulness and your thankfulness by making an estimate of giving for 2021. We have enclosed the Ministries and Financial Overview outlining how, through your commitments and giving, St. Stephen’s is living and serving our community and world.
Our hope is that everyone will participate in Consecration Sunday on October 25th, where we celebrate all the ways that God has blessed us, is blessing us, and will bless us by setting aside a portion in praise and thankfulness! We encourage you to bring your Estimate-of-Giving Card to a drive-thru celebration at St. Stephen’s Church from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday, October 25th, so we can see you and share our joy and thankfulness with you and offer you a token of our appreciation.
May you be richly blessed as you listen for all God’s stories and respond in thankfulness.
Grace & Peace,
Your Fellow Ministers in Christ,
Rob Robertson, Senior Pastor Gregg Snow, Stewardship Chair
