Incarnation: Discovering the Significance of Christmas
Online Book/Video Study for Advent
Four-Weekly Sessions Via Zoom with Pastor Rob
Tuesday Evenings at 7:30.p.m., beginning Dec. 1
In his new book, Incarnation: Rediscovering the Significance of Christmas, United Methodist pastor and author Adam Hamilton, examines the names of Christ used by the gospel writers, while exploring the historical and personal significance of his birth. His parents gave him the name Jesus. But the prophets, the shepherds, the wise men, and the angels addressed him by other names. They called him Lord, Messiah, Savior, Emmanuel, Light of the World, and Word Made Flesh. This Advent and Christmas, Incarnation calls Christians to reclaim the Christ child who brings us together, heals our hearts, and calls us to bring light into the darkness. Now more than ever, we need to understand the significance of the Christ child for our lives and world today! Through video and group discussion, we will engage Hamilton’s book
The book is available for purchase either as an electronic or hardback book from Cokesbury.com and is also available for sale on several other online retailers.
The Four Sessions are:
December 1: Presidents and King
December 8: The Savior and Our Need for a Savior
December 15: Emmanuel in the Midst of a Pandemic
December 22: Light of the World
