Thank you for your support of the 2020 St. Stephen’s Christmas Eve Offering for the Manger Ministry
Each year St. Stephen’s directs its Christmas Eve offerings to its Manger Ministry, supporting outstanding nonprofits doing God’s work, helping local families get back on their feet.
The beneficiaries of the 2020 Manger Ministry are the Gartlan House, a project of New Hope Housing, and Homestretch.
Since 1990 Homestretch has helped more than 2,000 families achieve permanent housing and self-sufficiency by giving them the skills, knowledge and hope they need to become productive participants in the community. Homestretch, a nonprofit, is headquartered in Falls Church. According to Homestretch, 93% of its program’s graduates are employed a year after successfully completing the Homestretch program. Homestretch has been recognized for its excellence in nonprofit work by more than a dozen local and state organizations. To learn more about Homestretch please visit Homestretch’s homepage.

Gartlan House is one of three permanent supportive housing homes operated by New Hope Housing, a nonprofit based in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County. Opened in 2008. Gartlan House provides permanent supportive housing for eight chronically homeless adult men. The program serves residents able to function well with only up to eight hours of on-site daily support. A portion of this year’s Manger Ministry will be used to support the Gartlan House. For more information on New Hope’s PSH program, please visit New Hope PSH Group Homes.
