Tammy Lydon
Tammy Lydon brings over 25 years of professional leadership in Music Ministry, combining deep musical expertise with a genuine passion for community and worship. Her journey began as a Mezzo-Soprano soloist and alto section leader at a church in Florida. That foundation led her to pursue choral directorship full-time.
Tammy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Adams State University. She has a Master’s degree from Kansas University in Music as a Collaborative Artist, with a specialized emphasis in Accompanying and Vocal Coaching. Her professional experience spans opera and musical theater, as well as choral and instrumental conducting.
When she’s not directing or coaching, you’ll find her lost in a good book, working on a sewing project, or challenging her kids to a video game, where she’s quick to point out that some of today’s most gifted classical composers are crafting stunning scores.
At St. Stephen’s, Tammy brings the full range of her experiences and inspirations to musical worship. Whether she’s playing organ or piano, conducting the choir, hosting hymn sings, or choreographing kids’ musical theater productions, her approach is the same: Tammy invites everyone to raise their voices in praise.
Tammy treasures the opportunity to coach singers of every age and ability. In her view, every voice has a place in worship. As Psalm 98:4 reminds us, “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!”
