
Rev. Spencer Broce
Our new pastor, Rev. Spencer Broce, comes to us with 25 years of professional experience in the United Methodist Church. He began in professional ministry at Beulah UMC, in Chesterfield, VIrginia as an Associate Pastor. His next appointment was to Calvary UMC in Salem, VA as their solo pastor, and most recently served as the pastor of Lebanon UMC in Hanover County, VA.
Pastor Spencer grew up not far from St. Stephen’s in Dale City, VA where he worshiped at Good Shepherd UMC. He graduated from Gar-Field HS before attending the University of Virginia, receiving his B.S. in Religious Studies. Soon after, he attended Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree.
Pastor Spencer is married to Lori, and they have two daughters, Gavyn and Morgan. Lori grew up in Suffolk, Virginia before attending James Madison University. Following graduation she followed her call to teach Special Education. Their daughters, Gavyn and Morgan, are also JMU “Dukes.” Gavyn just graduated this past spring with her Bachelor’s in Health Sciences as she heads to Veterinarian Technician school in the fall. Morgan is a rising Junior at JMU, also in Health Sciences, and is pursuing certification as a Physician’s Assistant. Their family is rounded out by their beloved rescue dog, Ginger, who is incredibly affectionate.

Our new associate pastor, Rev. Minoo Kim, comes to us with 7 years of professional experience in the United Methodist Church. He began in professional ministry at Good Shepherd UMC in Dale City, Virginia as an Associate Pastor. His next appointment was to serve as a church planter in Fairfax, VA, and most recently served as the pastor of St. Mark’s in Manassas, VA.
Pastor Minoo (pronounce me·noo) spent his teen years growing up not far from St. Stephen’s in McLean, VA where he worshipped at KUMC of Greater Washington. He graduated from McLean HS before attending Emory University in Atlanta, GA receiving his B.S. in Religion and Sociology. Soon after, he attended Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC where he earned his Master of Divinity degree.
Pastor Minoo is married to Grace, and they have one daughter, Sena (pronounce seh·na). Grace grew up in Atlanta, Georgia before attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Following graduation, she started working in Washington D.C. and attended Georgetown University for her Master of Public Policy. Grace currently works for the Department of Treasury. Their daughter, Sena, turned 2 in March 2022. Sena plans to attend St. Stephen’s Preschool this coming fall.
The St. Stephen’s church office is staffed Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m to-3:30 p.m., and will be staffed Fridays from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. We would love to hear from you with any news, suggestions, needs or concerns.
