Rev. Dr. William T. Chaney, Jr.
Rev. Dr. William T. Chaney, Jr. is a seasoned pastor, church planter, and leadership coach with over 25 years of ministry experience serving in diverse congregational and denominational contexts. Dr. Chaney is excited about his next ministry assignment with St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church in Burke, Virginia, where he looks forward to continuing his passion for trans formative, strengths-based leadership and community engagement. He comes to St. Stephen’s from Chesterbrook UMC in McLean, where he led the church through a post-pandemic revitalization. Under his leadership, Chesterbrook has transitioned to a one-board governance model, strengthened its worship and ministry structures, and embraced a multiethnic, intergenerational vision.
An ordained elder in The United Methodist Church, Dr. Chaney’s ministry is known for innovation in worship, deep commitment to discipleship, and effective community partnerships. He has consulted across denominations and served as a national conference leader on evangelism, worship renewal, and leadership development. Dr. Chaney brings a unique blend of pastoral wisdom, strategic insight, and Spirit-led vision to his ministry, equipping leaders and congregations to thrive in today’s ever-changing ministry landscape.

Our associate pastor, Rev. Minoo Kim, has nearly a decade of professional experience in the United Methodist Church. Soon after, he attended Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC, earning his Master of Divinity degree.
Pastor Minoo is married to Grace, who currently works for the Department of Treasury. Together they have two daughters, Sena and Lana, and one dog, Sunny.
